Sibak Mellody's first experience with martial arts oddly enough began in Hawaii where she was exposed to Goju Karate for two years however, it wasn't until 1995 did she start training in Kajukenbo under Sifu Ray.
Mellody is the first woman to be promoted to black belt under Sifu Ray.
Mellody currently teaches at the Oberlin Splash Park in Oberlin, Ohio.
